Stampin' Up Shoes

I recently put together my first video tutorial.  I know it is a summer project, and that season is quickly departing, but I am just now getting around to adding it on my blog.  The good news is that you can probably find flip flops on clearance right now to try this out.  The bad news is that you might have to save them to wear next summer.   I have made several pairs of these and they have all held up really well.  Hope you will give it a try!

Also, constructive criticism for the video is appreciated.  It's a first attempt and I am open to suggestions for improvement!  :)

More Faux Patina

This week we had our Demo Meeting for my fellow Stampin' Up demonstrators.  We also participate in some kind of swap.  Our theme this month was Fall.  I knew I wanted to use this faux patina technique and decided that fruit/harvest would go nicely with it.  Here's what I came up with...

A video tutorial is in the works for this technique.  As I said before, it is not difficult, there are just several steps involved.

Hope you have an amazing day and have the opportunity to both experience and share God's love today!

Faux Patina

I have been playing a lot with a new technique which I LOVE!  It is called faux patina.  There are several steps involved, but it is really pretty easy and gives a wonderful rich look to a project.  I went shopping early in the week and found this inexpensive ($1) wood frame that I decided to dress up using this technique.
I wish you could see the gold embossing better in the photo, but my camera shuts my phone off when I try to use the flash.  Because the size of the frame is wider than my embossing folder and my Big Shot, I had a little wrinkling of the paper that you can see in the upper right corner.  I decided that it added character and didn't worry about trying to fix it.  :)

Now I am off to have a productive Saturday.  Hope you enjoy the weekend!
